How to Install a Program in Windows

This page explains how to install a Windows program on your hard drive. If a program stops working properly, in most cases you can fix the problem by reinstalling the program.

Step 1:

Click the button on the Windows Taskbar. Then move your mouse up to wpeA8.jpg (1277 bytes) on the Start menu and then click wpeAC.jpg (1138 bytes) . A wpeB1.jpg (1403 bytes)l window will appear like this:

Step 2:

In the wpeB1.jpg (1403 bytes) window double click wpeB2.jpg (1873 bytes). An wpeB5.jpg (2066 bytes) window will appear like this:

Step 3:

Click the wpeBA.jpg (1322 bytes) button in the  wpeB5.jpg (2066 bytes) window. An wpeBD.jpg (2534 bytes) window will appear like this:

Step 4:

Do as the wpeBD.jpg (2534 bytes) window says. Insert the product's first installation floppy disk or CD-ROM.

Step 5:

In the wpeBD.jpg (2534 bytes) window, click wpeBF.jpg (1211 bytes). The computer will search your installation media and then a wpeC1.jpg (1709 bytes) window will appear, like this:

Step 6:

If the computer succeeded in finding the setup program, its file name will be displayed in the box labeled wpe10.jpg (1659 bytes) . If the correct installation program name is not displayed there, you will have to click the wpe12.jpg (1038 bytes) button and find it yourself. If the correct setup program is displayed then click the wpe13.jpg (1056 bytes) button. Thereafter, follow the setup program's installation instructions to install the program.

NOTE: It is recommended that you install programs to a drive other than your C: drive whenever possible.
